This
class, conducted by Khentrul Rinpoche, focuses on the preliminary

concise and systematic approach to understanding the Buddha's
teachings. It is based on the text 'Unveiling your Sacred Truth', a comprehensive

Uttaratantra - the Sublime Continuum
This
class, conducted by Khentrul Rinpoche, focuses on a precious Mahayana text composed by Arya Maitreya, the main heir to the Buddha's teachings. This text describes, in incredible and beautiful detail, the potential for enlightenment in all of us, known as Buddha-nature. The class will discuss the text from the perspective of the Shentong Middle Way school, the highest philosphical system in Buddhism as taught by the Jonang tradition. The material in this course relates more to Buddhist philosophy rather than ethics or 'religion'. Although beginners are welcome, it is a fairly advanced class and would best suit those with some experience in Buddhism or Philosophy.

What you
can expect
Each of our classes begin with a prostration (bow) to the Buddha Dharma
& Sangha (the Buddha, his teachings and the community of
advanced followers). We
do this to acknowledge the pure nature of these beings as well
as
the pure nature that resides within all of us (optional for newcomers).
Following this we perform a brief recitation of Buddhist ideas- either
in English or Tibetan, or alternating between them from week
to
week, depending on the class. The recitation prompts us to contemplate
some precious thoughts, such as the importance of using our lives in a
meaningful way . This is followed by a Dharma talk, the
opportunity to ask questions and discuss the teaching, a guided
meditation
session, and then a brief chanting session to dedicate our wholesome
energy.
After class all are welcome to enjoy refreshments and share experiences
with the other participants.
Buddhist Meditation &
Spiritual Training
The meditation
taught by
the Buddha is suitable for those wanting to realize their own true
nature. Treading this path, we learn how to live a joyful, meaningful
life whilst developing genuine love and compassion toward our families,
partners and also within our community. Buddhist
philosophy
and meditation provide the methods to develop tranquility and
improve
our inner strength so we can deal with those dilemmas which arise in
our daily lives.
Khentrul Rinpoche expounds the extensive, profound Dharma with great
realisation. Using this, a meditator can reduce the blindness caused by
confusion and anxiety. It provides an unmistaken path to success, as
well as the confidence resulting from wisdom which leads to real
realisations and
lasting happiness.
For those with a
suitable
foundation, Khentrul Rinpoche will also teach
the highly advanced spiritual training which is found in the Kalachakra
Tantra, an incredibly rare and precious teaching amongst all Buddhist
traditions. It is the only tantra which fully describes the critical
events of our world over the next 400 years, and is exclusively capable
of rescuing us from the destruction of this world by negative forces,
so as to experience a magnificent golden age. The Jonang tradition is
the sole holder of the complete Kalachakra Tantra, and this tradition
now only exists in remote areas of Tibet. We are incredibly
fortunate that our spiritual director, Khentrul Rinpoche, being the
only
completely qualified Kalachakra Tantric Master in Australia
and
most Western countries, is willing to teach us this rare and precious
tantra.
Khentrul Jamphal
Lodro Rinpoche
Born in the Golok
province
of middle Eastern Tibet, Khentrul Rinpoche is considered the
7th
emanation of the Bodhisattva Akasagarbha.
During his twenty years of formal Buddhist training he lived in many
different monasteries belonging to the five different Tibetan Buddhist
traditions. He was devoted to 25 great Lamas and received all the
various practices of the existing lineages in Tibetan Mahayana and
Tantrayana Buddhism.
