Divine Shower of Blessings
A Supplication to the Exalted Master Lobsang Thinley
Emaho!
Universal embodiment of all Buddhas,
Majesty of the Dharma within the three realms,
Treasure of compassion with tremendous affection,
Unequalled, powerful Protector,
Hold us near!
Sovereign of wisdom, total power, strength, and love,
You are the secret treasure who encompasses all enlightened families.
Lama, think of me!
Through cultivating the ocean-like immeasurable two accumulations,
You equal every Buddhas' wisdom and compassion.
You exceed every Victor's kindness.
Incomparable Lama Lobsang Thinley,
Think of me!
Actual sublime wisdom of natural empty appearances,
Peaceful expanse of self-arising spontaneous pristine awareness,
You are inseparable from the unchanging vital spheres of great bliss.
To you, master of definitive meaning,
I supplicate!
Although ground and fruition are indivisible,
And the ultimate dimension's expanse of inner awareness
Is stable, everlasting, unwavering peace without divisions,
Relative realities' illusion-like magical displays are without end.
To your infinitely marvellous apparitions,
I supplicate!
For incalculable eons,
You have remained the spiritual heir of boundless Amitayus and Amitabha,
You are the supreme Victor of Victors, blazing with brilliance!
You appear as Amitabha's heart-son,
You are the Bodhisattva Vajrapani,
With inconceivable emanations to tame beings,
Sublime Dharma-treasure of the wise Shakya King,
You are the Great Charioteer who guides fortunate disciples.
From your spontaneous emanations, one-hundred-thousand
Moonbeams appear in order to enlighten your activities.
To you, protector of beings,
I bow!
Great Regent of Shakyamuni in this fortunate eon,
Great Witness at the feet of the previous Buddha Kashyapa,
Omniscient jewel-like friend, unique ornament of our world, "Vasubandhu."
To you, sun of the Buddha's teachings in India,
I supplicate!
In the Snowland of Tibet,
You were Vairochana’s heart-son in Gyarong, "Yudra Nyingpo,"
You were Atisha's heart-son, the Kadampa reviver of Buddhism, "Dromtonpa Gyalwa,"
You were Milarepa's heart-son in Ngari, the white cotton-clad Kagyupa, "Zhiwa Od."
To you who raised the victory-banner of accomplishment,
I supplicate!
Above White Earth, you were renowned as the Sakyapa "Sachen,"
Jonang Mountain King Black, you were born the royal Bodhisattva, "ChangSem Gyalwa Yeshe,"
At glorious Samye Sanctuary, you were the Nyingmapa master "Longchenpa."
To your various miraculous emanations as a guide for beings,
I supplicate!
You were the holder of the Gelugpa teachings, "Geleg Pal,"
You were the inconceivable miracle skilled in the means of taming beings,
In particular, you were the dispeller of darkness in the peripheral province.
To you, protector whose compassion is kindest,
I supplicate!
You were the supreme illuminator of Buddhism in South Shri Lanka,
You were "Mahanta," the spiritual son of the Great Buddhist King Ashoka,
You sat at the feet of Thang Zhan, the Great Charioteer of the Mahayana in China.
To you who opened the eyes of the world,
I supplicate!
As the five great continents and four oceans rise and wane,
You remain steady within infinitely vast pure Buddhafields,
Spreading, stabilising, and flourishing the Victor's teachings.
To you who have become an adornment of the Buddha's teachings,
I supplicate!
Hearing you retain a hundred scriptures like the ocean beholds water,
Contemplating you eradicate the slightest misconceptions through keen discernment,
Meditating you seize the throne of bliss and emptiness indivisible,
To the feet of Lama Lobsang Trinley,
I supplicate!
You have seized the irreversible and secret profound teachings of definitive meaning,
The lifeforce of the profound wisdom of meditative concentration,
Peerless omniscient one in the land of glacial mountains,
To you, indisputable Lion of Explication,
I bow!
Outwardly, you are the crown jewel of a distinguished scholar-adept,
Inwardly, you are known as the Shambhala Kalkin Manjughosha,
Secretly, you are the great Sovereign of Secrets Vajrapani,
Most secretly, you are the primordial Buddha Kalachakra.
To you Lama,
I bow!
For as long as a cloud of deluded darkness covers beings,
You remain to unite the sun and moon of wisdom and compassion,
You shine forth hundreds of thousands of light-rays,
You do not pass beyond, like waves in the ocean,
You are an immeasurable wish-fulfilling gem.
To you, protector of beings,
I bow!
Now, as the Dark Age quickly approaches,
Protector, when you manifest as an emanation of a Kalkin, Raudra Chakri
Please look after us and guide us to Shambhala.
To you, Great Universal Guide for beings,
I supplicate!
Until we reach the very quintessence of enlightenment,
You appear as infinitely luminous Buddha Amitabha,
You appear as a fierce Kalkin Raudra Chakri, blazing with radiance,
You appear as the unlimited emanations of awakening,
Your lives have captured every possible magical display.
in whatever emanations you may appear,
May we always be your foremost disciples!
Eventually may we complete the ocean-like two accumulations!
May we become a protector like you, and a saviour for beings!
For as long as this vast ocean of samsara is not emptied,
Until then, may we bring about benefit and happiness for beings!
Through the power of the two accumulations and the Victors of the three times,
Through the power of the unerring interdependence seal
and my glittering white pure intention,
May the meaning of this prayer be accomplished!
Natural Lama, may our minds mingle!
This supplication prayer was composed in the Tibetan Wood Bird year during the fourth month, on the fifteenth day, the anniversary of Lama Lobsang Trinley’s passing into nirvana by one who was fortunate to meet the actual enlightened body mandala and enjoy the merit of the nectar-like speech of Lobsang Trinley, Khentrul Rinpoche Jamphal Lodro the island of Australia, in the Great Western Ocean, in the great city of Melbourne, through tremendous devotion.
